In Tampa, federal authorities announced the arrests of 12 individuals involved in a major drug trafficking organization. The suspects, hailing from Florida, Puerto Rico, and South Carolina, face charges including drug trafficking, firearms offenses, money laundering, and murder.
The investigation, which began in 2020, uncovered the group’s operations, leading to the seizure of over 150kg of cocaine, 600g of fentanyl, and $6.5 million in illicit proceeds. The group’s leader, Carlos Limery Dones, is accused of posing as a legitimate businessman to cover their criminal activities.
