Brittany joined the CDC Foundation as the Central Florida HIDTA PHA in early February 2022. Brittany has been a resident of Central Florida for 7 years, moving to Florida from Atlanta, GA where she earned her Master of Community Counseling from the Atlanta School of Professional Psychology. While in Florida, Brittany continued her work in mental health and substance use disorder treatment, working in the psychiatric hospital setting as an evaluator, and eventually moving into a supervisory role. Brittany transitioned from the psychiatric hospital setting into a supervisory role at a residential substance use disorder treatment center. Brittany decided to return to school to complete her Master of Science in Public Health while she continued to work full-time in the community behavioral health space. Upon completion of her degree, Brittany decided to leave community work and for the last two years has been working as a Project Manager and Clinical Trial Coordinator managing multiple pharmaceutical clinical trials with various indications. Desiring to reconnect to her community, Brittany returned to the nonprofit arena and brings to her position her experience in community behavioral health, namely substance use disorder treatment and understanding, and her skills as a successful project manager.
