Crime Gun Intelligence Officer

LOCATION
The incumbent will be assigned to the Central Florida HIDTA Investigative Support Center located in Lake Mary, Florida.
HIRING SALARY
$75,500 to $79,500 (based on experience)
PURPOSE OF JOB
To perform as a crime gun intelligence officer working at the direction of the Central Florida HIDTA Executive Director. This position is funded by the Central Florida HIDTA (CFHIDTA) and will be administratively assigned to the CFHIDTA Investigative Support Center (ISC), under the supervision of the ISC Manager and will coordinate crime gun intelligence information with Central Florida HIDTA and other HIDTA initiatives throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
JOB DUTIES

Collect and organize crime gun intelligence information, conduct in-depth analysis of that information to create actional intelligence, and disseminate that intelligence in furtherance of criminal investigations​

Provide direct analytical crime gun case support to Central Florida HIDTA law enforcement initiatives such as conducting or facilitating traces of all identified crime guns, and facilitating crime gun ballistics analysis through the National Integrated Ballistic Identification Network (NIBIN) and other related databases

Conduct link and trend analysis relating to crime guns seized by HIDTA initiatives, and other law enforcement agencies as assigned

Organize analytical findings, and prepare visual, written, and oral reports and representations to investigators and initiative leadership

Attend required training and meetings as determined by the CFHIDTA leadership

Conduct special crime gun intelligence projects as assigned by CFHIDTA leadership
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 10 years of experience in law enforcement

Outstanding interpersonal communication skills and must have the ability to work as part of a team and independently

Fluency in Microsoft Software applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Strong research/data mining skills

Ability to obtain a “Top Secret” Security Clearance

PREFERRED
-
Experience working for a U.S. federal law enforcement agency or working as a member of a U.S. federal law enforcement agency task force.

HIDTA Case Explorer analytical experience

Bachelor’s Degree

Active “Top Secret” Clearance

BENEFITS
This is a salaried annual contract position. There are no “employee” benefits such as 401K, pension, Life or health Insurance, etc.
Qualified candidates must successfully complete a background and drug screen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Top Secret Security Clearance. The successful candidate must also complete and pass a panel interview.
